Retired Greyhound Fund
The Meadow Court Retired Greyhound Fund
Here at the Stadium the safety of the Greyhounds has always been paramount to the Management.
That is why from November 1999 Barbara Tompkins, June Hickman, Tony Branch and Eileen Doxey together with many of the Trainers at the Stadium decided to set up a Retired Greyhound Fund. Money is raised by running raffles and some donations come from the Adoptive Owners. This is now run by Mrs Kath Chambers. The funds are used to help Trainers keep the Greyhound until a suitable home is found.
The fund will pay a months keep and endeavour in that time to re-home the Greyhound into a suitable home. It is also used to help the adoptive owners with the Veterinary Fees incurred when having the bitches spayed. Every home is vetted for the suitability of the would be adoptive owner and the suitability of the individual Greyhound to the respective home. The Greyhounds are provided with a collar, lead and a walking out coat.
Up to press we have re-homed 100+ greyhounds and the adoptive owners are absolutely delighted with them.
